The death toll from "Black Wednesday", as Israel's murderous blitzkrieg on Lebanon on April 8 has come to be known, has surpassed 350 and will likely be higher as more bodies are pulled out of the rubble. The Lebanese government has not only been useless in terms of defending the country but caring for the almost 1 million who have been internally displaced and injured. There is an urgent need for shelter, food, and of course, medical care.
Join us on Saturday, April 25 from 7 - 9pm at Dar AlHurriya (Palestine House of Freedom) on 650 Pennsylvania Ave SE in DC to raise much needed funds for organizations providing direct aid to those who have been affected by Israel's bombardment and invasion. We will be showing:
+"Buffer Zone" a short documentary by Lebanese filmmaker Farrah Berrou that highlights the loss of home and memories in Lebanese border villages like Kfarkila;
+Photos over the years from another southern Lebanese village, Deir Kifa,
+An interview with some of the villagers from Deir Kifa who have been forced off their land and from their homes for the second time in 3 years
+Music, food, and refreshments
RSVP using QR code on the flyer. Sliding scale of $5 - $25 donation for entry but no one will be turned away. For more info/questions: (301) 327-4274
