Title: Program and Operations Director
Status: 40 Hours a week, $80,000 salary
Reports to: President/Executive Director
Location: Washington, DC

Position Overview
The Program and Operations Director is a cornerstone of Dar Al-Hurriya’s growth and impact. This vital role is responsible for deepening our grassroots power, expanding our coalition networks, and ensuring the smooth and strategic functioning of our internal operations. As a bridge between our community, our movement partners, and our organizational infrastructure, this role is essential to sustaining and scaling our work.
This is not a static position — it is expected to evolve alongside the organization’s growth and shifting needs. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment; someone who is equally comfortable mobilizing community members, building systems that support organizational sustainability, and co-creating the future of Dar Al-Hurriya. This is a highly collaborative leadership role at the heart of our collective liberation work.
1. Coalition Building and Engagement:
Build and nurture relationships with community partners and advocacy groups.
Facilitate coalition meetings, discussions, and collaborations to advance shared goals and strengthen partnerships.
2. Education and Outreach:
Develop and implement education and outreach strategies alongside the executive director that align with the organization's mission and goals.
Organize and facilitate community workshops, events, and educational programs to raise awareness and promote action on priority issues.
Ensure the accessibility and inclusivity of outreach efforts to diverse communities, ensuring equitable participation and engagement.
3. Communications and Content Development:
Create content for various communication channels, including newsletters, websites, social media, and print materials.
Develop engaging and persuasive social media messaging that effectively conveys the organization’s mission, program goals, and key initiatives.
Write, edit, and review content for clarity, impact, and alignment with organizational objectives.
4. Volunteer Management:
Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and management of volunteers.
Coordinate schedules and assignments for volunteers and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Manage administrative volunteers/interns as needed
5. Office, IT, and Administrative Support:
Ensure the organization’s office is well-organized, equipped, and efficiently running at all times.
Manage office supplies and equipment, including ordering and maintaining inventory.
Oversee office technology systems, including computers, phones, and IT infrastructure, ensuring their functionality.
Oversee invoicing, expense tracking, bank deposits and the timely processing of payments and receipts.
Ensure accurate record-keeping of financial transactions
6. Office Management:
Oversee the organization’s visitor management system, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
Manage scheduling and coordination for visitors, including board members, donors, and other stakeholders.
Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries from visitors, ensuring clear communication and positive experiences.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university
At least 5 years of experience in Palestine-related activism
Prior experience working in the non-profit sector
Proficiency in the Arabic language (spoken and written)
Skills and Competencies:
Strong event planning and organizing skills
Familiarity with non-profit platforms and tools
Highly self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
Adaptable and capable of managing changing responsibilities
Willingness and ability to support accounting and IT-related tasks as needed
Strong collaborative skills and experience working with other groups and organizations
