Statement on NATO Summit in Ankara

The official NATO website https://www.nato.int/en/news-and-events/events/2026/07/overview---2026-nato-summit-in-ankara- states the following as the agenda for the 2026 summit in Ankara, Türkiye:

1. Defense investment.

2. Increasing defense industrial production.

3. NATO's support for Ukraine.

All three mean more money for developing weapons, more money to the arms industry. Less than an hour and a half from Ankara a genocide of horrific proportions is taking place and no one thought it was worth adding a discussion on how to end it to the NATO summit agenda. The genocide is of course taking place within the Gaza concentration camp, known also as the “Gaza Strip.”

The apartheid regime, AKA “Israel,” has been in place for close to eight decades, and throughout these decades it has been engaged in ongoing slaughter and displacement of the Palestinian people. It has also created the concentration camp known as the “Gaza Strip.” This apartheid regime has had the military, diplomatic and “moral” support of most of NATO allies. However, since October 8, 2023, the apartheid regime has outdone itself by inflicting death, destruction and horrific suffering upon the two million residents of the Gaza concentration camp.

Palestine House of Freedom in Washington, DC states unequivocally that it is criminal of the NATO allies to convene at this time, particularly in Türkiye, which claims to be an ally of the Palestinian people, and disregard the crimes being committed in Palestine. We acknowledge that NATO allies have been largely complicit with the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, however we state that at this point, not discussing how to end the immeasurable suffering of the Palestinian people is a level of complicity that is arguably unprecedented.

We state that NATO allies must act to hold the “Israel” regime accountable for the crimes of apartheid, genocide and ethnic cleansing. To do this NATO allies must do the following:

1. Impose a total arms embargo on the regime.

2. Act toward the disarming, defunding, and the ultimate dismantling of the apartheid regime’s military.

3. End all economic cooperation with the regime.

4. Divest totally from the apartheid regime.

5. Impose severe sanctions against the regime and the individuals who lead it.

6. Impose a boycott of the regime in all arenas, economic, academic, and athletic, etc.

7. Close all diplomatic missions of the apartheid regime, and the respective missions of their countries represented in occupied Palestine.

NATO allies must demand the following take place immediately and unconditionally:

1. Release of all Palestinian prisoners.

2. End the assault on Palestinians throughout all of Palestine.

3. Allow unlimited and unrestricted aid to the people of the Gaza concentration camp.

4. End the military assault on Lebanon and retreat from all Lebanese and Syrian territories.

5. End the assault on Iran.

Short of this, NATO declares itself as knowingly, and deliberately being complicit in crimes against humanity.
